On Marriage Equality

I know I haven’t made progress on Four Doors (have been editing my first almost-finished novel!), but wanted to share this opinion piece on today’s hot topic ->

I am a Christian and believe that at some point in the past, God designed a world in which women and men made perfect partners for each other.
But that world got broken. Even nature is fallen.
In the political arena, what is more important than my beliefs is that not everyone shares my beliefs.
I cannot expect people who do not believe as I do to make the same choices I do. Heck, I struggle just to follow through on the choices I make for myself.

To attempt to use the force of law to make my personal beliefs apply to others is to attempt to enslave others to my will.

Worse, it steals from them the healthy work of coming to their own decision.
It supplants me between them and God. It is attempting to make myself god in their life as much as choosing to do what I know God doesn’t want me to do is making myself god in my own life.

Let people live. Let them make choices, right or wrong. Let them sin so long as it does not endanger others.
It is our job to Love; trust God to sort out the rest.
